Their engagement story (as told by Sam): He proposed on Easter 2011. We just got home from our family events, I was laying in my bed with my dog and he came up next to me and said “I have a secret” I said “what” He said “I love you!! I have another secret……(as he is placing my hand on the box in his pocket) Will you marry me?” I didn’t believe (because he is the type of guy that would pull a trick on me like that and really it just be earrings or something) so I ripped the box out of his pocket, opened it and instantly began crying.

I often have people ask me how I learned to use my camera or what resources and classes have helped me the most in my photography journey. Clickin Moms is ALWAYS one of the first things out of my mouth. I love to take the workshops & classes that are offered. In fact, it was a Clickin Moms workshop that taught me to use my camera in full manuel mode & I’ve never looked back. I’m actually in a “break-out session” right now. I am CONSTANTLY continuing my learning to become a better photographer. I have taken classes on business, natural light, shooting in manual, post processing, shooting newborns, shooting couples, website & blog optimization & design, pricing, interacting with children during sessions, shooting in low-light, and more.

It’s not only the classes & workshops that keep me coming back. It’s the community. It’s a huge, supportive, group of (mostly) women who I can relate to, and can relate to me. I can ask them questions about photography, I can ask them questions about business, but I can also ask them questions about Mommyhood. Sometimes as Moms we just need someone to listen and to tell us we’re not alone in this whole “Mom” thing

Are you wondering why I’m telling you all of this? I think this online community is a wonderful things for ALL Moms to take part in. You can learn to take better photos of your children, you don’t have to be going into business. If you are, great, but you don’t have to be. Lots of the women & mentors on the boards are hobbyists.

We have one little wiener dog {Mya}, one maltapoo {Belle}, and one guppy {Zeek}… RIP to our late fish Harper. I never had really wanted dogs… at all! Yet I’m so glad that we got them. My daughter absolutely LOVES them. They add a lot of unconditional love to our family, and hey, you can never get enough of that
